I want to add a Linux distribution as a dual boot. Which Linux is the best? What is the best Linux distribution for a dual boot?
I thoroughly recommend Linux Mint 11. Its easy to install and easy to use plus it comes with much of the software you are likely to need preinstalled

You download the ISO. image of Linux Mint 11 or Linux Mint Debian Edition then you need to create a Bootable LiveDVD

Linux Mint 11 and Linux Mint Debian Edition can also be run straight from the LiveDVD from Boot without touching your Hard Drive

There is no "best" version of Linux. There are many distributions that you can choose from. It depends on your level of expertise and what you want to do with it. If you are new to Linux, I would recommend trying ZorinOS (zorin-os.com) or LinuxMint (linuxmint.com) as these distributions are tailored with the beginner in mind and include most software you will ever need. Additionally, the installer will allow you to safely partition your hard drive so that you can install Linux alongside of your current OS of choice. On my blog I have a video showing you how to configure a Dual boot system.

You can choose from Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, Mandriva and Zorin. If you've been using Windows for a long time and you are new to Linux, I would suggest you use Zorin OS:

It has the looks and feel of Windows 7.
