Linux Mint has excellent wireless support:

I have installed Ubuntu onto several Dell and my current HP laptop. It found the wireless card every time - it took a tad bit of other tweeks (but NOT ndiswrapper!). I don't recall what additional settings were needed, but I was prompted for each component in the installation process.
But I did have to read the prompts as I was installing. What linux distros work with broadcom 43xx cards out of the box?
i had the same problem with my hp. easiest way is too do that is one use the distro Ubuntu.. and plug your laptop in wired.. with a ethernet cable, when you go into the driver menu, you can click update driver, it will find the driver for your w. card automatically.
Mint 14 doesn't work at all. It doesn't even see ndiswrapper to go that route. Ubuntu is just out of the question IMO.
