How about Ubuntu and install one of the many emulators from the software center? What is the best linux for an old computer to play a nintendo emulator?
Check out Puppy Arcade, it's a small distro based on Puppy Linux that includes many emulators.

I might have to check this one out myself. What is the best linux for an old computer to play a nintendo emulator?
I believe that you must try a Debian-like distro, like the own Debian, it's a lightweight linux distro and ready (after some configurations) to use, to watch videos, mp3 and others utilities, without lose any resources like happens with others distros used in old pcs.
