Linux is an operating system like Windows XP, but Linux is open-source while XP is closed source. What it means is that you can use XP, but you wouldn't know the code that made it. But you can use Linux and also have the source code (although you have to agree to some licences to be able to modify the code to your own needs.)



Linux is just one flavor of open source operating system, but a popluar one. Others are FreeBSD, Solaris, System V. Generally, it's called Unix.Linux???????

Linux is a free and open-source operating system. An operating system is a large program that interacts with the hardware and lets other programs run on top of it. Windows and OS X are also operating systems.

is an Open source Operative Sistem who sucks big time, is so boring and dificult to use, well i find it dificult to use because i get so bored that i have tu turn back to Guindous XP
