Hi, i'm beginning to use linux and was just wondering what the best linux distro for web developing is.What is the best linux distro for web development?
Technically there is no distro specifically designed for web development. You could pick whatever distribution you are comfortable with and then just download the tools used for web development to that Distro. That's one of the best things I like about Linux is its power and its ability to be customized. It really comes down to personal preference. What is the best linux distro for web development?
I'll go a little bit further: the tools for web development on Linux are available for all the distros equally. Linux is actually an OS you are encouraged to customize to an extent you would be called a pirate for doing to Microsoft or Apple OSes -- by the guys at Redmond and by Jobs himself. In other words take any distribution you are comfortable with, look up the tools you want and install them FROM YOUR DISTRO'S REPOSITORIES (unless you use slackware like me in which case go to slackware.org) and MAKE it the best distro for web development.
