What is your personal favorite linux distribution?

Just want a few ideas, looking to put linux on my laptop, I find windows is too bloated. What is your personal favorite linux distribution?
I personally love Ubuntu they have great support in the forums I have Ubuntu 10.4 Lucid on 3 Desktops and 1 Laptop and just cant get enough of it.

Ubuntu is an ethic or humanist philosophy focusing on people's allegiances and relations with each other. The word has its origin in the Bantu languages of southern Africa. Ubuntu is seen as a classical African concept. The Ubuntu operating system was named for this principle.

The Ubuntu community for sure conforms to this ethic. Ubuntu offers tons of free software and a wonderful GUI and easy to use software management all for free. If you try Ubuntu it will grow on you for sure. Best of luck in finding the best OS for your self hope this has helped.

GOOD LUCK!
OpenSUSE, of all the distributions I've tried it seems to be the most polished and very flexible/configurable. It is easy enough for those who are new to Linux and offers a lot to those who are old to Linux.

Debian is also excellent and while not very polished, it is one of most versatile and can do just about thing you want it to do with its huge library of available software. What is your personal favorite linux distribution?
Debian and Ubuntu are personal favorites of mine.

Run Debian on my more...decent computer and a HEAVILY-watered down version of Ubuntu (called Xubuntu) on a desktop i've had since 2000. Both run smoothly nonetheless.
I thoroughly recommend Linux Mint 8 Main Edition which is built upon Ubuntu 9.10 Its easy to install and easy to use plus it comes with much of the software you are likely to need preinstalled

You download the ISO. image of Linux Mint 8 then you need to create a Bootable LiveCD for installation

Linux Mint 8 can also be run direct from the LiveCD from Booting up without touching your Hard Drive

LUg.What is your personal favorite linux distribution?
I am currently using Mint 7 on an Acer laptop and Mint 9 on a Sony laptop. Both run great.
To tell you the truth I use ubuntu. Ubuntu is good for new users. Im not a new user but i still prefer it. Also try fedora. I dont love fedora but its still better than the other distros. I personally dislike suse because it is made by novel and novel is a partner with Microsoft. Novel is also selling parts of its company so i don't recommend suse at all. Ubuntu is my favorite fedora is my second favorite oh ya there is also linux mint but thats just ubuntu with a different look and codecs pre installed.
