What Linux based operating system is best for running off of a Flash Drive?

I just recently got an 8GB flash drive, and I have wanted to try Linux or Ubuntu for the longest time.What Linux based operating system is best for running off of a Flash Drive?
For old systems DSL (it uses the 2.4 kernel), for newer system LUbuntu or antiX.
It depends on how much effort you want to put into setting it up, include the software you want to use and remove the software you would never use. It also depends on what your purpose is for it being on a flash drive. I am running Debian from an External Hard drive that boots up from the USB ports. There are two different methods of install to a flash drive. One allows you to down load things to the flash drive, but when you shut it down, it doesn't keep those files, the other way will retain the files. Ubuntu seems to be the most recommended and one called penlinux which I believe is a slackware based distribution. There are several different distributions that can be installed to a flash drive.What Linux based operating system is best for running off of a Flash Drive?
All i want to say is Ubuntu 10.04 is awesome, 11.04 is not, I want to try Fedora (can run on USB) and please also realize that ubuntu is linux, but linux is not just ubuntu, but over 100 different other OS's

You could use the NEW Flash Linux.

It's designed especially for flash drives..hence Flash Linux
